FATAL CRASH INVESTIGATION


On August 15th, 2020 at approximately 10:21 PM Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum Rescue, Pitsburg Fire Department, Phillipsburg Fire Department and Clay Township Police responded to the 9600 block of Darke Montgomery County Line Road on a single vehicle injury accident.


Preliminary investigation revealed a 2006 Freightliner DP&L utility truck driven by Mark Reed (32) of Arcanum was traveling eastbound on Darke Montgomery County Line Rd. Mr. Reed traveled off the right side of the roadway, over corrected crossing the center line before going off the left side of the roadway and rolling onto it's top. Mr. Reed was pronounced dead at the scene.



The Darke County Accident Reconstruction Team and the Darke County Coroner's Investigator was called to the scene for further investigation.



This accident remains under investigation.



This is Darke County's seventh traffic fatality in 2020.
