DEPUTIES INVOLVED IN PURSUIT

On October 21, 2020 at approx. 7:26 PM Darke County Deputies were dispatched to the area of US 36 West and the Indiana State Line to assist Indiana law enforcement with a vehicle pursuit.



Darke County Deputies joined the pursuit near the state line. A white 2017 GMC U-Haul van was traveling East bound on US 36 from the state line. The van was driven by Charles Keller, 53, of Anderson Indiana. Mr. Keller traveled East on US 36 from the state line to the intersection of US 36 and US 127 at speeds of 40 to 50 MPH. Mr. Keller failed to maintain control at the intersection striking a red 1992 GMC driven by Daniel Howard, 38, of Brookville that was stopped on US 127. Mr. Keller and his passenger Devan Phillips, 30, of Anderson, Indiana were taken into custody. Mr. Howard and his juvenile passenger were treated and released at the scene by Greenville Township Rescue. Mr. Keller and Ms. Phillips were transported to Wayne Health Care and were later released. Mr. Keller was booked into the Darke County Jail on felony charges. Ms. Phillips was also booked into the Darke County Jail for out standing warrants.



This incident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
