CRASH INVESTIGATION



On February 18th, 2022 at approximately 1756 hours Darke County Deputies along with Ansonia Rescue, Gettysburg Fire, and Gettysburg Rescue were dispatched to the intersection of Beamsville Webster Road and Schroder Road in reference to an accident with injury.


Preliminary investigation revealed and Red and Gray 1994 Ford F-150 driven by Mark Malott ,62, of Versailles was traveling North on Schroder Road at the intersection of Beamsville Webster Road. Mr. Malott failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign traveling into the path of a Taupe 2012 Lincoln Mk-x driven by Darla Allread ,61, of Versailles who was traveling West bound on Beamsville Webster Road. The vehicles struck in the intersection. Mr. Malott was treated and released at the scene by Ansonia Rescue. Ms. Allread was extracted by mechanical means by Gettysburg Fire and was transported to Wayne ER by Ansonia Rescue. Ms. Allread's front seat passenger, Randy Allread, 63, of Versailles was also transported to Wayne ER by Ansonia Rescue. Two Juvenile passengers in Ms. Allread's vehicle were also treated and released at the scene.


Mr. Malott was arrested at the scene for Operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Mr. Malott was also found to be driving under suspension. Mr. Malott was charged with OVI, Driving under suspension, and failure to yield from a stop sign.


This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
